Dolores' solo album was co-produced by Martin 'Youth' Glover (Verve, U2) and Dan Brodbeck (Avril Lavigne, Holly McNarland). It was engineered by Rich Chycki (Aerosmith, Pink) - how heavily do you think these players influenced the sound of Are You Listening?

HAHAHA I kind of thought that Loser sounded like Avril Lavinge... no wonder why. As for the others, October does kind of sound like U2 (and need you be reminded that U2 has a song called October) and Stay With Me has a bit of an Aerosmith (who btw is the bomb!) thing going for it too. I don't hear anything close to the others, especially Pink though. I still think that Steve was the reason why the album takes, err, shall we say "metal" like leanings. Though fans never fear, Dolores hasn't pulled a Cradle of Filth on us, though I think that *would* be rather interesting just the same.

If you think that AYL sounds different to the rest of the Cranberries´stuff, compare "Wake up and smell the coffee" with "No need to argue" or "To the faithful departed". I don´t think that it´s Dolores aim to sound like ten years ago...

For me, AYL? sounds totally diferent from any Cranberries album. Just the drums on "Loser" reminds me of "WUASTC" song, that's all.

AYL? is heavier, and my all time favourite Yes
