Hey there fellow Cranfans, I think this thread can go under this part of the forum, I mean it is "Cranberries related", right? Anyways, if you don't know already, there is a music video-game out there called ROCK BAND. It's the first video-game that allows a player or players to sing, play guitar, play bass guitar, or play the drums. It's really quite enjoyable and has such a diverse setlist compared to games like GUITAR HERO III, whereas the focus is metal and heavy rock.
Back to the main point, on www.rockband.com, if you register a name on the website, you gain access to the "Request A Song" feature. Alls you do is put the song name (followed by the band name in the same bar) and then a possible reason for requesting that song. ROCK BAND as enjoyable as it is, doesn't have any Cranberries songs!!! I miffed by this fact and requested the song "Stars" because it is one of my favorite singles from The Cranberries and it has obvious enjoyable singing, guitar-playing, bass-playing, and drums-playing in it (worded so incorrectly).
I'm not telling you all to go register and request a song but if you play the game or know of it, and/or if you don't mind, register a name and request a Cranberries track. If you choose to do it (THANK YOU!!), try and stick to their popular singles rather than non-singles (as awesome as they are). The reason behind that is Harmonix (the creators) tend to use known songs from popular bands and don't often (or ever) use non-singles.
Great suggestions would include but are not limited to:
-"Zombie"
-"Ode to My Family"
-"Dreams"
-"Salvation"
-"Hollywood"
-"Stars"
-"When You're Gone"
-"This Is the Day"
and possibly "New New York"
Yeah, you guessed it, just about anything from their greatest hits album(s). I would love "Linger" but I can't quite hear enough guitar in it to make it a candidate. So if you want to make a generous "donation", listen to some of their singles and determine which songs contain a great or enjoyable amount of (Electric) guitar, bass, and drums. And if you want as well, you can post a Cranberries song (or pack of three songs or known as a "track pack") in my own "The Cranberries request thread" thread on the ROCK BAND forum.
Again, I'm not telling you and don't feel obligated to do so, but if you don't mind, it'd be great to get Harmonix to recognize the undeniable irish awesomeness that is known as The Cranberries.
