Hey people...Droless in particular I don't understand what are you talking about....Dolores was and still is a part of a great band,she was the one with who people  associate The Cranberries!Now she's solo but it's still O'riordan...maybe different music or something but if someone is a tender to beauty no matter if he was a crans fan he will love Dolores I think..

Well, it's actually not a difficult thing to decide whether we love Dolores as a solo or not cos it is buried deeply in our soul. But the reason why we are discussing now is that there are different kinds of Cranfans, and the whole solo thing is thus not simple at all.

I fell in love with the Crans cos first of all I like Dolores voice, at the same time I can't deny the importance of the other three members of the band, cos it was they who gave her voice a unique and incomparable enviorement to live and grow. And the myth of the band lies also in the special position of Dolores, she functioned as the girl who was supported by three male musicians, so her coolness and experimental flairs is best underlined.

Now Dolores is going solo, and we can't help worrying that the power and affections of her songs will be weakened. There will be no band, no one play behind her and beside her. Our whole concentration is on her now, will she fulfill our fans' require and desire by herself, or are we expecting too much from her?

Of course we love her voice! But sometimes voice is not the only determinate factor of music! We are expecting a more confident and a new Dolores O'Riordan.That's a turning point in her career, and we'll go with her as far as we can/will.

i can consider my self Dolores' fan mostly.
i became a cranfan when i was a child, because of her...
for me the band was 4 people, i still love the boys so much
but i'd never give attention to the rest with a different singer.
for me Dolores is more than a singer..
the band is her history, in her own words-why should deny her history?-
she plays the cransongs cause they belong to her as she wrote or co-wrote them.
and she's everything to me. well, if thats not ok, sorry thats me.

but yeah if you mean that every singer who is in a band needs to find their own identity some time....then im with you...

though i'd love to have the crans reunion sooner than what they plan (if they ever planned..i know not yet)

I always considered the cranberries as "the band around dolores". (Despite of Fergal from whom I got an autograph at Stuttgart, Germany. He´s is quite nice).

And as Dolores sings in willow pattern:

"Never turn around, [...] never walk backwards"

I think that´s the way she feels about her career as a musician. And if you compare the Cranberries´development in the last years (WUASTC), it sounds completely different to "AYL". I think she just wanted to come back to her own ideas and inspirations...
