Hi here is my story: i dont remeber the first time i heard them or the song but my sister which is 10 years older than me was listening Zombie in 1995. Radios and Televisions were trying to remind us about falling of Berlins Wall and there were some politics things that made Zombie often on radio and TV. So i remebered one day my father was death just beofre some months and we were all listening Zombie on TV - me, my sister and my brother all of us singing and shouting those words(and me imaging playing drum part- it was my child wish to play drums). I remeber that i already knew every single beat of drums, i knew words so may be that was just the time i realise what they mean for me.

it was in 1994, I was....7. My brothers bought everybody else then no need to argue and I loved it... so I took their cd's, played them in my bedroom. And acted like I was Dolores... huhu

     They learned me music!

Hello at all!                                                                                                  Hope you will understand me, because I´m from Germany Wink

And this is my story (probably not so spectacular like some i read)...                  It was the 24th January 2007 and i write with one of my friends at ICQ. She asks me: "Hey do you know this song?" (Well, it was Zombie and I think everyone should know this song! Wink )                                                                         Then she post "Twenty-One", "I can´t be with you" and "Dreams" to me and i fell more and more in love with this music and Dolores unbelievable voice....*is in seventh heaven*...                                                                                         As soon as possible I buy "No need to argue" and "Bury the hatchet", but I´m still searching for "Everybody else is doing it so why can´t we", "Wake up and smell the coffee" and "To the faithful departed" ...... I hear the songs at Youtube.com but that´s not teh same, is it??

Hope I´ll meet some freaky fans like me here??

    Love

    Hi!!
love this question! i actually signed up just then to answer it! hahahA!
all your stories are great, and i love hearing about your first experiences with the cranberries. anyway....
id always heard people talk about the cranberries at school, and songs like linger were always playing when i was a kid but i never listened to them. so then in year 12, i had to study the film clueless (along with the book Emma). so in clueless the song "Turn away" plays while they are driving the car. and im like, omg! what is that song! who is singing it!!! so then my teacher gave us a list of all the songs in the move (for some technique work or something) and i found the song on there, went home and downloaded it! then i started listening to more cranberries music and since then i have been in love. and turn away will always be one of my favourite songs! Smile
