Soon to be defunct! I imagine my grandchildren asking to see my CDs and asking how we played them... "Whoa, so you actually carried that thing - discman - around with you?! You're so old fashioned, Grandma!"

Choosing was a real dilemma to me. No Need to Argue is such a masterpiece, almost perfect! even though Bury the Hatchet is amazing and it has a special emotional meaning to me...ah well I voted for the former one. No Need to Argue anymoooore.

My uncle bought To The Faithful Departed for me from a little vintage record store when I was in maybe elementary school, and it was the stupidest thing I'd ever heard. Then I listened to it again in high school, and it was the best thing I'd ever heard. It's gotten me through bad days, bad weeks, a boring summer, and I still never get tired of it. I've heard it described as their most depressing album, but I really don't think so....

I voted for NNTA not because it is really my favorite album but only because it is THE album that represents the most The Cranberries !!! It was hard for me to take a decision that's why I chose this one. I almost love all the albums appart from WUASTC because you don't really find the spirit of the Cranberries in it anymore. It is like something was ending and you could feel it through each and every song !!!

I discovered The Cranberries with NNTA in 1994. Some years after I was looking for Linger on this album as I became a fan when BTH was brought out in 1999. Since it was not it I had to buy EEIDISWCW, TTFD and to The Cranberries. WUASTC, look into the newspaper and see that The Cranberries has split. Now they belong to music history !!!

You're definitely right, Droless.  NNTA is incomparable, the absolute masterpiece, even though I also love EEIDISWCW, because it represents the original, pure spirit of the Cranberries: the beauty of a simplicity that never turns into banality, powerful rhythmics, beautiful melodies, all stick together by that unique voice.

Obviously it's terribly difficult to be simple and original at the same time, and it's even more difficult to remain, so simple and original.  That's why I think WUASTC was not a good work: there are a few very good songs in it, of course (I like This Is The Day, I Really Hope, Chocolate Brown), but there are some mediocre ones too (Time Is Ticking Out is maybe the worst Cranberries' song, I still can't believe that it was even chosen as a single!).

If we look at the results of the poll about the best album, we can see that many fans agree with you and me, Droless (by the way, is this your real name?).  More than half the forum members consider NNTA the best album (it's easy to recognize a masterpiece), while WUASTC is the only album without a single vote.

Eventhough some song are very good, I have to say that the sounds does not correpond to what a Cranberries' song sounded before.

Droless (by the way, is this your real name?).

Droless is not my name... It is a nickname I only use on forums, sites and blogs.

The story: I used to play cards on internet under the name of Dolores. And one a friend of mine called me  Droless because it reminded her of my name. Somewhere in France, Droless is a way to call women. So, the nickname was perfect !!! Now I have kept it.

    Droless is everywhere !!!

I like the first one "Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We? (The Complete Sessions 1991-1993). I like this version better than the orginal because it contains "Reason" and "Liar."

I chose EE because it's the first cran album I ever heard in it's entirety (that does not mean it's the first cran thing I've ever heard) I listened to it ALOT. I haven't listened to it in a while though save for yesterday I think.

But yeah in my opinion the first 3 are their most solid albums. Bury The Hatchet has some great songs but I could do without Dying In The Sun sometimes and Fee Fi Fo.
