The Cranberries Reunited
As has been widely reported now, The Cranberries reunited for a very short set this past January in Dublin, Ireland. Noel Anthony Hogan and Michael Gerard Hogan joined Dolores O'Riordan on stage to celebrate Dolores becoming an Honorary Patron of Trinity College's Philosophical Society. After a brief interview, the three band members - who haven't been on stage together in almost six years - performed versions of "Linger", "Ordinary Day" from Dolores' first solo album, and "Zombie".
This gathering has of course prompted rumours of a reunion, to which Dolores has responded, "Definitely down the road, but not right now because we’ve all got kids and babies. You can’t really do both – be on the road all the time and be a good parent. To bring kids into the world, you need to be there for them. I’m really enjoying taking things at my own pace.”
Dolores will be releasing her second solo album, No Baggage? in May of 2009.

Music as Therapy
The comments from all of you have been so positive and encouraging. Thank you one and all. Here's the next article in our continuing, Cranberries Are Good and Good For You.
Music As Therapy
Remember the first time you heard “Linger”, or “Zombie”? How did it make you feel? And now, when you hear those songs again, do you get transported back to that moment? Music can be such a powerful influence on our moods, and our well-being even. When you’re at the gym, you want something upbeat to drive you; maybe you’ve got your favourite mix for long trips in the car; or a special song that lifts your spirits when you’re down. Music as treatment for depression has been recognized for centuries
Dolores O’Riordan has stated in interviews, that creating Are You Listening was very therapeutic for her.
"I was doing it as therapy," O'Riordan explains about the personal nature of her songwriting, and the time it took to release her first solo record. "I wanted to switch off and be a human being, so I escaped from the industry and the whole entertainment side of things. For 14 or 15 years I'd always felt under pressure, because there was always another album to come, and another album then."
– The Independent
The Cranberries have been responsible for some very powerful emotional responses to their music over the years – from charged political statements to questions of social welfare. And those evocations are carried over in the imagery of their videos. So tell us and the other members of Cranberries.com how has their music affected you? Do you regularly turn to The Cranberries to help you cope with difficult situations? Or maybe it’s just to keep that smile on your face.

The Mixtape: Part 2 in The Cranberries Are Good and Good For You
Wow! What an incredible response to our first post. Really great to read so many comments and stories of your Cranberries concert experiences. Here's the next post in our continuing series:
The Mixtape
What’s your ideal mixtape? Is it all Cranberries, or maybe you’ve tossed them in with some other artists? Does “Dreams” come before “Animal Instinct”? Or are those songs even included? The mixtape is one of the most popular and convenient art forms that exist. Creating a mixtape for a significant other or just a party with your friends will say a lot about yourself and those people. Lots of thought and effort goes into its creation – from the mood you’re conveying, down to some cool artwork to go with your tape or CD. It’s like a message in a bottle.
To me, making a tape is like writing a letter — there's a lot of erasing and rethinking and starting again. A good compilation tape, like breaking up, is hard to do. You've got to kick off with a corker, to hold the attention (I started with "Got to Get You Off My Mind", but then realized that she might not get any further than track one, side one if I delivered what she wanted straightaway, so I buried it in the middle of side two), and then you've got to up it a notch, or cool it a notch, and you can't have white music and black music together, unless the white music sounds like black music, and you can't have two tracks by the same artist side by side, unless you've done the whole thing in pairs and...oh, there are loads of rules.– Nick Hornby, High Fidelity
In these days of portable MP3 players it’s all about the playlist. Do you have different playlists for different occasions? On-The-Go? Parties? Rainy days? Tell us all about them. Why not even show us! Maybe you’ve got a Last.fm account, a Muxtape or an iMeem – post your playlists here and share with the rest of the Cranberries community. What’s in your Cranberries cocktail?

The Cranberries Are Good and Good For You
Hello all, and welcome to a new ongoing series of posts that we’re hoping will engage you, the Cranfans. Over the next few weeks, we will post some interesting articles that explore how The Cranberries Are Good And Good For You. Please let us know what you think of our little project by leaving us a comment. If you have any ideas for future articles, please send them to us at help@cranberries.com. The first in our series relates to:
The Concerts
It’s July 14, 1990, and you’re at Ruby’s in Limerick, Ireland. You’re one of 60 people in the audience. They Do It With Mirrors is the headlining band, but it is the opening act that has caught your ear. The singer is a young woman with a voice bigger than her own size! Someone tells you they are called....what did he say? Cranberry Sauce? Oh – The Cranberry Saw Us, and this is the first time that they have performed with their singer, Dolores O’Riordan. “Linger” is the opening song and it has stayed with you for almost 20 years now. From that point on you have managed to see the act dozens of times. Perhaps during their first UK tour in May and June of 1992. Was anyone at this concert recorded at the London Astoria II in February 1994? Were you lucky enough to catch them during their first ever American tour in June 1993? Or during their final tour with the Rolling Stones in 2003? Share with us your greatest Cranberries concert experience, and how many times you have seen them perform.

An Anything but Ordinary Review

Many CranFans will be familiar with the video for Dolores’ song “Ordinary Day”, in which Dolores is chasing a mysterious little girl dressed in a red coat, through the streets of Prague. The video leaves the viewer with more questions than answers, but one blogger has written an in-depth analysis of the meanings behind the imagery used in the video and suggests their own interpretation.
