Fergal Lawler

Drums

Fergal Lawler As a founding member of The Cranberries, Fergal's come full circle since the band took their hiatus in 2003. When the group made the decision to take a break, Fergal decided to concentrate on developing the recording studio he had built a few years previously. After running into an old friend named Kieran Calvert, a guitar player with an ability to get a great sound from any instrument, together they quickly formed a bond and began working on a project entitled 'The Low Network'. After recruiting a female singer, the band went into the studio and recorded their self-titled E.P.

Shortly after that project had run its course, and a long needed break, Fergal received a call from a Limerick solo artist named Brendan Markham, who needed to track vocals for his upcoming album. Ecstatic with the results of the recording session, Fergal was asked to stay aboard and engineer and produce Brendan's full length release. 'False Witness' was released earlier this year and Brendan is currently on tour supporting the album.

Continuing behind the console, a friend of Brendan's from a band named 'Walter Mitty and The Realists' approached Fergal about recording some material. The next year was intermittently spent recording their debut album 'Green Light Go'. The band released the Album in April 2009 after being chosen as 'Band of Festival' at Canadian Indie week.

With his studio finesse and reputation growing, 'Last Days of Death Country' called on Fergal to record some songs with a view to release an E.P. After a few months of recording, they eventually ended up with eight finished tracks, four of which the band plans to release on an E.P. early next year.

Before leaving for Ireland for The Cranberries tour, Fergal was in the final stages of recording an album with a singer/songwriter and multi-instumentalist named 'SI'. With great songs and a fantastic voice, Fergal is excited about the release of her Debut Album in 2010.

Fergal will continue to helm the kit for The Cranberries as the band continues writing chapters to the band's history well into 2010 and beyond!
